WorkCast receives Queen's Award for international success

Gateshead-based virtual events platform, WorkCast, has been officially presented with The Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2020.

WorkCast has been recognised for its success overseas  - particularly from the organisation's US-base of operations. The presentation of the Queen's Award comes off the back of exceptional growth and innovation over the past four years, with over £5 million in revenue for the 2021 financial year alone.

Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear, Mrs Susan M. Winfield, OBE, presented company representatives with the honour in her capacity as representative of The Queen.

The ceremony, which took place on 19 November, was also attended by Deputy Lieutenants Paul M Callaghan, Esq., CBE, and  John D. Mowbray, OBE. It took place at WorkCast's new headquarters at the Northern Design Centre in Gateshead. The Northern Design Centre is the newest icon on the Gateshead skyline and has quickly become the premier location for creative and technology businesses in the North East of England.

Chris Darch, General Manager of North America for WorkCast, said:

It's an honour for WorkCast to be recognised as a leader in international trade. Since expanding into Seattle in 2016, WorkCast has gone from strength to strength, with our US-base of operations driving record growth across that period.

The past 18-months have been difficult for a lot of businesses, and the team here at WorkCast has worked tremendously hard. It's heartening to come together to celebrate an achievement like The Queen's Award.
