Charity retail like you've never seen before

An award-winning charity retail outlet, hailed by The Guardian as the IKEA of charity shops, is launching with a bang, in Team Valley Retail Park, Gateshead on Saturday 1 April

Daisy Chain Megastore will stock the most diverse range of donated products ever seen on the high street. From mainline brands sold at low prices to a premium concession range that will house high end labels such as Balmain, Ralph Lauren and Versace. There's something for every shopper. Uniquely, the gold range will extend into collectables where they will also house antiques, fine art and one-of-a-kind collector pieces.

A new addition to Teesside-based charity, Daisy Chain's retail arm, the Megastore is an impressive 23,000 sq. feet, making it the largest of its kind in the UK. The store provides an ethical way to shop within a budget, without compromising on style and quality.

This long-awaited department store will feature exceptional products at affordable prices. The money you spend supports some of the most marginalised individuals in the region. It's guilt-free shopping in its purest form - doing good for the planet and the community.

With sustainability high on Daisy Chain's agenda, the organisation is also committed to the advancement of slow fashion by launching its own clothing brand, Neuthread. As pioneers of the project, the team is creating high-end apparel from unusable, donated materials and textiles, reducing carbon emissions, and saving water, energy, and chemicals, resulting in less pollution.

Neeraj Sharma, CEO at Daisy Chain said: "In the charity sector all organisations are striving to gain maximum income from all of their funding streams, and when it comes to retail they often go small, and launch online.

"We are excited to be branching out into something bravely different, offering the consumer the opportunity to shop live for premium brands - to be able to see and touch the product you're going to buy, as well as see the real-world impact of the money you're spending. There's nothing else like this on the high street, we're sure of that!"

In addition to donated goods, the site has partnered with Whirlpool to sell brand-new white goods, and will be selling a range of sustainable and ethical new products from specialty coffee to artwork.

Profits made at the store are ploughed back into frontline autism and neurodiversity services across the region and beyond. From being a shopper to donating pre-loved belongings, arranging the collection of sofas and large furniture items and joining the team as a volunteer to support the ethical movement, there are so many ways to get involved.
