Crafting around with Hannah

In June 2022, 'Crafting Around with Hannah' launched in Gateshead, and business owner Hannah Charlton has never looked back. Specialising in bespoke personalised items including clothing, mugs/cups, teddy bears and business cards/flyers, the USP of Hannah's business is making sure every item has a personalised touch to it.

Crafting Around with Hannah is a solely online trader and operates from a home working basis, a business model made hugely popular post the COVID-19 pandemic.

When launching her business, Hannah had one main motivation that continues to drive her to this day:

"I have a 5-year-old son who is my number one supporter, everything I make him, he adores and I feel so much happiness watching his reaction, that's my encouragement to do well for myself and my customers."

With the cost-of-living crisis having a huge impact on everyone currently, Hannah was keen to appeal to every kind of demographic in her clientele list. Pricing starts from £1 to suit different levels of income, and personalisation has no age or gender specification.

This business was supported by Business Gateshead and the Enterprise Support in the North East 2 Project funded by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and delivery partners including Gateshead Council.

When asked about the Start up Smart boot camp, Hannah said:

"I found the Start up Smart boot camp supportive and very beneficial, the workshops I found very engaging, and I felt like the information I was receiving came from knowledge and experience."

Crafting Around with Hannah continues to grow day by day and are starting to expand and upgrade their equipment to provide for a higher volume of orders. Crafting Around with Hannah will also appear at the Crawcrook Fair on  Saturday 5 August 2023.
