Recently, Gecko Gaming has been looking to expand, and a seminar on funding organised by Business Gateshead and Gateshead Start up Skills programme provided essential insights. "The session on accessing funds for business growth was incredibly detailed," the founder noted. "I learned a lot about different types of investments and how they could impact my business. This information will be invaluable as we consider moving to a larger venue."
Another key element of the support came from participating in a government-backed initiative, 'Digitalising Our Town Centres.' The programme provided Oliver with skills to enhance Gecko Gaming's online presence and improve its engagement with customers. "Learning how to create engaging social media content, use AI tools, and design branded imagery made a big difference," they shared. "It's helped us create conversations with our customers online and make sure our information is consistent across all platforms. The confidence I gained in using these digital tools has been a huge asset."
The shop has also had a profound impact on Oliver, who now enjoys a fulfilling balance between work and family. "Being able to build my schedule around my family and community has been life-changing," . This sense of fulfilment, combined with positive feedback from the growing community, keeps the founder inspired to continue expanding Gecko Gaming's reach.
