Business Spotlight - Embeauty

Emilie's journey into the beauty industry was not straightforward. After completing her education in France, she faced a pivotal decision - accept an offer to join the Police or embark on a new adventure in the UK. Choosing the latter, Emilie moved to the UK at the age of 20 and has lived here for over 20 years. 

As her language skills improved, she settled into various customer service roles however, seeking a more fulfilling career, she pursued qualifications in beauty therapy, including a Level 2 Beauty course.

Determined to establish her own business, Emilie sought support from Business Gateshead and Working Gateshead, who provided invaluable guidance and support to navigate the opportunities available through the 'Enterprising North programme' in Gateshead, which is funded by the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund.  Emilie then participated in a course with The Millin Charity, who supported her in launch of her business.

Reflecting on the support she received, Emilie said: "The assistance from Business Gateshead and The Millin Charity was instrumental in turning my passion into a viable business. Their guidance gave me the confidence to pursue my dream."

Embeauty is now in its initial phase, aiming to bring joy to clients through personalized mobile beauty treatments. Emilie extends her gratitude to all who supported her journey, enabling her to engage in what she is most passionate about.

Emilie's story exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit thriving in Gateshead, supported by local initiatives dedicated to fostering business growth.
