Rexys Reviews roars into Gateshead

Rexys Reviews, the UK's largest independent specialist dinosaur shop and prehistoric culture exhibition, is drawing dinosaur enthusiasts, collectors and families from across the UK and even around the world to its one-of-a-kind home in Gateshead.

Founded in 2021 by Jurassic superfan Andrew Garthwaite, Rexys Reviews began as an online store and YouTube channel dedicated to dinosaur memorabilia. Following overwhelming demand and spilling into multiple storage sites packed with props and displays, the business quickly outgrew its multiple premises in South Shields before consolidating and relocating to Gateshead in September 2025 with support from the Business Gateshead team.

Now based on Forge Road in Dunston, the family-run attraction combines immersive retail with museum-quality displays, featuring life-size dinosaurs, replica movie props and an unrivalled collection of prehistoric-themed merchandise. Best of all, the experience is completely free to visit, fully accessible, neurodiverse-friendly and includes a dedicated chill-out zone where visitors can relax with refreshments while taking in the spectacular surroundings.

Often described as a "hidden gem", Rexys Reviews continues to go from strength to strength. With ambitious plans for the future, Andrew is currently working with SMARTA through the Gateshead BIG Programme to support the next phase of growth and ensure even more exciting developments are on the horizon.
